Its funny how we as music pundits try and categorize the latest sounds of todays new artists. I mean “its gotta sound like something or someone” before, right? Enter Ramsey, an LA-based indie/experimental pop artist. Her new single Pay is a dark, bittersweet love song of pain, acceptance and letting go.
A deep, rich powerful testament to “getting over” a broken relationship. With a smokey trip hop-styled production, Pay brings to mind artists like Portishead, Lana Del Rey and Kat Dahlia, yet Ramsey’s heart-wrenching vocals have a style all their own. And as producer and composer she is an artist to appreciate and enjoy.
